Job description

Internal Wholesaler– Alternative Investments
Position Overview

A growing alternative investment platform is looking for an energetic and commercially minded Outbound Sales Associate to join its distribution organization. This position will focus on developing relationships with financial advisors who are not currently utilizing the firm's investment platform.

The role is well suited for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, activity-driven sales environment and is comfortable speaking with financial professionals throughout the day. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving prospects from initial outreach and platform introduction through registration, ongoing engagement, and ultimately their first transaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-volume outbound outreach to financial advisors and wealth management professionals who are not yet active users of the platform.
  • Make approximately 75 or more prospecting calls per day while maintaining consistent follow-up and activity levels.
  • Work from targeted prospect lists using factors such as advisor assets, business model, firm affiliation, and demonstrated interest in alternative investments.
  • Serve as the initial sales contact, providing advisors with a clear overview of the platform, available investment capabilities, and value proposition.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each advisor's business, including assets under management, client base, investment approach, experience with alternatives, product interests, and applicable business or compliance considerations.
  • Lead prospective advisors through the account and platform onboarding process, removing obstacles and ensuring registrations are completed efficiently.
  • Use a consultative approach to address questions and objections, focusing on education and helping advisors understand how alternatives may fit within their practices.
  • Assess prospect engagement and establish appropriate follow-up strategies based on each advisor's level of interest and readiness.
  • Partner with product and distribution specialists to arrange educational conversations, webinars, and other resources for prospective advisors.
  • Maintain consistent communication throughout the sales cycle with the goal of converting newly registered advisors into active users and generating a first transaction.
  • Monitor pipeline activity and conversion metrics and provide regular reporting on prospect engagement, registrations, and first-trade activity.
  • Maintain detailed and timely CRM records, including call notes, advisor information, interactions, follow-up plans, and pipeline status.
  • Identify advisors with significant business potential and transition qualified opportunities to senior relationship management professionals.
  • Ensure assigned prospect and territory information remains current, accurate, and actionable.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 2–5 years of experience in outbound sales, inside sales, financial services, wealth management, or a comparable client-facing environment.
  • Prior exposure to investment products, alternative investments, financial technology, or advisor platforms is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with financial advisors, RIAs, independent broker-dealers, wirehouses, or other wealth management organizations.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required; candidates without the licenses must be able to obtain them within 90 days of joining.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-activity sales environment with defined performance goals and measurable KPIs.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish credibility quickly with sophisticated financial professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify opportunities, overcome objections, and consistently move prospects through a sales pipeline.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or another enterprise CRM and a disciplined approach to maintaining accurate activity and prospect data.
  • Experience with outbound sales engagement or sequencing platforms, such as Outreach, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize a large prospect pipeline.
  • Self-directed, competitive, resilient, and motivated by measurable results.
  • Working knowledge of alternative investment products and the wealth management landscape.
