Nationwide Financial is seeking an Internal Retirement Specialist in Kentucky to deliver retirement plan expertise to participants, acting as a consultant to tailor education and advice to individual needs. The role combines client education with strategic collaboration across Retirement Specialists and Program Directors.
The ideal candidate brings licenses (FINRA 6/63/65 and Life/Health), strong relationship-building, and a track record in a sales-driven environment.

This position will support the Kentucky Deferred Comp plan, and requires the FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 (Series 7 & 66 also accepted). State Life license also required. This is a hybrid position, requiring alternating weeks of Work From Home and in the office (1 week in, 1 week out). In office schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00 am -4:30 pm (ET). Financial advisor experience preferred and team is open consider strong candidates with relevant transferrable skills.

As an Internal Retirement Specialist, you'll provide retirement plan expertise to participants. You'll act as a consultant to provide specific education and advice based on the individual participants unique needs.
Reports to Manager and does not have direct reports.
Education: Undergraduate studies business, finance, communications, marketing or related field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses, Life and Health license are required. Associates must acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the designated time period, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a relationship/sales driven position. Experience in a sales call center environment preferred, as well as financial services background.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of insurance and financial products. Knowledge of defined contribution plans preferred. Must have a drive for results, ability for relationship building and positive outlook. Proven consultative selling/advising skills and ability to follow processes. Strong time management/organization skills, receptive to coaching and customer focused. Ability to balance multiple priorities with excellent communication skills. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Associate Vice President of area and HR Vice President.

National salary range for Internal Retirement Specialist: $52,000.00-$97,000.00.
Expected starting salary range for Internal Retirement Specialist: $52,000.00 - $78,000.00.
