Job summary

The State of South Carolina seeks a Program Director to lead the SCORE Oyster Recycling and Enhancement Program and coordinate habitat restoration projects across the state. The role requires directing staff, managing contracts, and ensuring program outcomes with partners and the public.

Responsibilities include supervising field activities, overseeing restoration projects, managing budgets and reports, and coordinating with agencies and contractors on permits and grant proposals.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in biology, chemistry or wildlife management and two years of experience in fish, wildlife or marine management or research programs.
• A bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, wildlife management or related technical area and four years of experience in fish, wildlife or marine management or research programs.

• Oversee Army Corp of Engineers permit applications and compliance reports.
• Develop grant proposals and coordinate with agencies, contractors, partners, stakeholders, and the public.
• Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of vessels, vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and other program equipment.

Ability to lift heavy objects and work under adverse conditions including high heat and humidity. Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends and long work days as required by field schedule.
