Job summary

Western Home Communities is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our internal pool and help provide care across our facilities. You will have the opportunity to create a schedule that fits your lifestyle and work in clean, newly built or renovated buildings with a supportive, team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate is Iowa-licensed, able to travel to Cedar Falls locations and other WHC sites, and prepared to work weekend shifts or on-call weekends for full-time or part-time

• Reliable transportation
• Must possess a current active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa.
• Experience/ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
• Prior LPN experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the preparation and planning of resident admission; giving proper recognition to the real and potential contribution of family and others in planning nursing care.
• Accurately administer all medications, treatments, and physician orders; taking ultimate responsibility for resident care.
• Provide for the emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents and emotional support to families.
• Assist with supervising, assisting, consulting with, and teaching certified nursing assistants.

Requirements:

• Must be able to travel to Cedar Falls locations, Creekside in Grundy Center, Parkview in Reinbeck, and The Village of Ackley in Ackley. And other future locations of WHC.
• Full-time employees must work 3 self-scheduled weekend shifts a month OR choose an on-call weekend
• Part-time employees must work 2 self-scheduled shifts a month or choose an on-call weekend
• Must work 2 self-scheduled holidays
