Job summary

Summit Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join the Internal Medicine team. You will support diagnosis and management of complex chronic diseases and provide high-quality care for pets and their owners.

Strong communication, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care are essential. Benefits include an hourly pay range of $22.00–$28.00, shift differential for overnight hours, CE/dues/license coverage, 401k, PTO and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision

Qualifications

• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty environment.
• Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience.
• Veterinary Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating complex medical cases.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report abnormalities.
• Administer medications and fluids as directed.
• Perform in-house lab testing and sample collection support.
• Assist with diagnostics and procedures including ultrasound, endoscopy, and imaging.
• Maintain detailed medical records and histories.
• Prepare prescriptions and discharge instructions.
• Support long-term case management and client follow-up.
