Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Grand Rapids is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Internal Medicine Specialist to join our 24-hour specialty and emergency team in Grand Rapids or Byron Center, Michigan. This permanent, full-time role offers flexibility to practice at either location with no on-call requirements.

You will diagnose and treat complex internal medicine cases, perform advanced diagnostics, and collaborate with emergency and specialty teams.

Qualificações

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Michigan licensure.
• ACVIM board certification or residency training in Internal Medicine.
• Strong communication and collaborative approach with clients and teams.

Responsabilidades

• Manage complex internal medicine cases across GI, hepatobiliary, infectious disease, endocrine, hematologic, and respiratory systems.
• Perform and/or order advanced diagnostics (ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT).
• Coordinate care with specialty and emergency teams for shared patients and transfers.
• Mentor technicians and assistants in daily case management.
• Help shape and grow the Internal Medicine service based on clinical interests.
• Pursue growth opportunities in ultrasound and interventional procedures.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and support teams to deliver compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
