Job summary

Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas seeks an Internal Medicine physician for civilian federal service. The role includes primary care in a Patient Centered Medical Home and inpatient ward duties; telephonic and on-site consultations as needed.

The candidate must be a US citizen with an MD or DO, board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine, and hold an active license. Residency training in Internal Medicine is required and experience in inpatient and consultative

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen
• Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a US/Canada accredited school
• Licensure: current, active medical license in the US
• Residency Training: Internal Medicine residency completed (GP-14) or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Internal Medicine physician in a PCMH; provide inpatient general medicine care.
• Coordinate and integrate care across the healthcare system; admit patients when appropriate.
• Lead multidisciplinary clinical team and oversee panel management and patient care.
• Serve as inpatient and outpatient consultant for Internal Medicine; available for consultations when on call.
• Provide primary care for DoD beneficiaries following standards of care and HIPAA.
