Job summary

The Brigham Young University School of Medicine seeks a part‑time Associate Chair of Internal Medicine (0.2 FTE) to lead educational and scholarly activities within the division. Reporting to the Department Chair, you will guide curriculum design, faculty development, recruitment, and assessment while aligning with institutional standards and the School of Medicine's mission.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree completed by the start date.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or subspecialty.
• Academic or clinical leadership experience in medical education.
• Excellence in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, or learners.
• Commitment to the BYU School of Medicine mission and ethics.
• Ecclesiastical Endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, and retain qualified mission-aligned Internal Medicine faculty.
• Mentor faculty in teaching, assessment, scholarship, and development.
• Coordinate delivery of education across pre-clerkship to clerkship and clinical experiences.
• Assist with timely, high-quality student assessments and narrative evaluations.
• Generate departmental letters of recommendation for residency applicants.
• Coordinate with clerkship director on course reviews and student feedback.
• Represent the division on committees and accreditation activities.
• Promote a spiritually grounded, rigorous learner-centered educational environment.
