Ladders is seeking an Internal Controls Senior Manager who will lead multiple internal controls and risk advisory engagements for clients in the Finance & Insurance space.

The role focuses on SOX, governance, risk management, and compliance, with an emphasis on process improvement and team development, while supporting growth through proposals and thought leadership. Location is Remote - US-based candidates only; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in internal audit, SOX/ICFR, risk advisory, or related fields.
• Proven track record of leading multiple engagements and managing executive client relationships.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Internal Controls Senior Manager to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will lead multiple internal controls and risk advisory engagements, serving as a trusted advisor to client leadership throughout the engagement lifecycle. The position is focused on delivering high-quality work in SOX, governance, risk management, and compliance while driving process improvement and team development. It also plays an important role in supporting business growth through proposals, strategic initiatives, and thought leadership.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple internal controls and risk advisory engagements simultaneously
• Act as the primary day-to-day client relationship manager and trusted advisor
• Ensure timely, budget-compliant engagement delivery while maintaining quality standards
• Review work products, address risks, and identify opportunities for governance and process improvement
• Coach and develop managers and team members to foster growth and accountability
• Support recruiting and retention efforts to build future leadership within the team
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, proposals, and thought leadership activities

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in internal audit, SOX/ICFR, risk advisory, compliance, IT risk, or a related field
• Proven track record of leading multiple engagements and managing executive client relationships
• Strong ability to manage teams, budgets, resources, and project delivery effectively
• Experience leading engagements across various industries and business environments
• Proficient knowledge of internal controls, governance, risk management, and SOX 404
