Job summary

Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa, Georgia, is seeking an Internal CT Technologist on a contract basis with a minimum 12-week commitment and potential permanent placement.

The CT Tech will perform adult, geriatric and pediatric CT procedures, review records, prepare consents, operate scanners and injectors, and ensure accurate image archiving to PACS; internal applicants encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform advanced CT procedures with accuracy.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent hearing and vision, with good manual dexterity.
• Physical stamina for standing/walking long shifts.
• Ability to lift 20+ lbs and push/pull 50–100 lbs with/without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT procedures on adult, geriatric and pediatric patients.
• Program computer for type of exam and operate power injector.
• Obtain contrast, review CT questionnaire, and complete consent forms.
• Archive images to PACS and maintain daily procedure logs.
• Verify patient identifiers and review records for accuracy.

Internal Contract Opportunity – CT Technologist

We are currently accepting applications for internal contract assignments for CT Technologist positions with a minimum commitment of 12 weeks or longer with permanent placement possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs CT procedures on adult, geriatric and pediatric patients.
  • Checks two patient identifiers for proper identification prior to exam.
  • Reviews patient record for accuracy and compliance with treatment plan.
  • Reviews CT Questionnaire and Meds Reconciliation Sheet with patient.
  • Obtains completed consent forms for all contrast studies; reports all refusals to ordering physician.
  • Programs computer for type of exam being performed.
  • Obtains additional cuts as directed by Radiologist.
  • Recognizes abnormal reactions and responds per protocol.
  • Operates power injector for contrast media exams.
  • Obtains and completes I‑stat procedures properly.
  • Obtains contrast needed for exams from Omnicell.
• CT Records and Archives
  • Maintains daily log of patient procedures.
  • Archives images to PACS and verifies that all images are sent to PACS.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Must have the cognitive ability to perform in this role. Critical and executive level thinking is required.
• Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Have near normal hearing – able to hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice/webinars.
• Have near normal vision – clarity of vision (both near and far) either corrected on non‑corrected, ability to distinguish colors.
• Have good manual dexterity and eye‑hand‑foot coordination.
• Standing – continuously within the shift (67–100%).
• Walking – continuously within the shift (67–100%).
• Climbing – occasionally within the shift (1–33%).
• Bending/stooping – frequently within the shift (34–66%).
• Twist at the waist – occasionally with the shift (1–33%).
• Pushing/pulling 50+ lbs without assistance – frequently within the shift (34–66%).
• Pushing/pulling 100+ lbs with assistance – frequently within the shift (34–66%).
• Lift/carry – 20+ lbs without assistance – occasionally within the shift (1–33%).
• Reaching above the shoulders – frequently within the shift (34–67%).
• Lift/carry – 50+ lbs with assistance – occasionally within the shift (1–33%).
