MetLife is seeking a analytical, collaborative intern to join Internal Audit for a part-time internship from October 2026 to May 2027. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to audit, finance, risk, and data analysis while supporting audits across multiple Finance functions in a hybrid role based in Warren, NJ or Tampa, FL.

Qualifications

  • Current Junior or Senior enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

The Opportunity

MetLife is seeking an analytical, collaborative, and detail-oriented student to join our Internal Audit team as a part-time intern. Internal Audit plays a critical role in evaluating financial, operational, and business processes to help ensure effective risk management, reliable financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to audit, finance, risk, and data analysis while supporting audits across a broad range of Finance functions, including Controls, Analysis & Reporting, Investments, Actuarial, Tax, Treasury, Reinsurance, and Investor Relations. Working alongside experienced audit professionals, you will gain valuable insight into how a global financial services organization manages its financial operations, risks, and strategic objectives.

This part‑time internship runs from October 2026 through May 2027. Interns will work approximately 20 hours per week and are expected to be in their designated office three days per week based on a schedule agreed upon with their manager. This internship will be hybrid based out of Warren, NJ* or Tampa, FL.

* The Bridgewater, NJ team will be relocating to 400 Warren Corporate Center Drive, Warren, NJ 07059 in September, 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review financial, operational, business, and technology processes to assess compliance, controls, and risk exposure.
  • Support audit planning, meetings, process walkthroughs, information gathering, and documentation activities.
  • Execute audit testing, analyze results, and evaluate control effectiveness while identifying potential risks.
  • Draft audit observations, contribute to audit reports, and assist with recommendations and remediation tracking.
  • Collaborate with audit management and business stakeholders to discuss findings, action plans, and issue resolution.
  • Use data analytics, AI, and other technology tools to support audits, deliver projects on time, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Junior or Senior enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited university p ursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • Familiarity with data visualization, analytics, or reporting tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or ACL.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI-enabled productivity tools, or other emerging analytics technologies.
  • Demonstrated interest in internal audit, finance, accounting, risk management, controls, or data-driven decision-making.
* Location Expectation

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $25 - $30. This role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation and stock-based long‑term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
