Job summary

CoBank is offering a 10-week Internal Audit Internship in Denver. You will assist in documenting and executing operational, technological, and financial procedures, help with audit reporting, and collaborate across divisions on risk assessments and special reviews.

The role is hybrid with at least 3 days in the office, and interns work about 40 hours per week. Eligible students may work toward developing KPI metrics or risk-tracking methodologies while gaining real-world banking experience.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Agribusiness or related field
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills in Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn other software

Responsibilities

  • Support reporting of audit results and communication of findings.

What You’ll Do

Over your 10-week paid internship, our Internal Audit Intern assists in the documentation and execution of operational, technological, and financial procedures. They assist with reporting and communication audit results. Additionally, this intern will partner with other CoBank divisions to perform various risk assessments, special reviews, and projects. A typical project as an Internal Audit intern may include an opportunity to create or enhance a new Internal Audit KPI metric or create a cohesive observation and risk tracking methodology. CoBank interns learn real-life business skills and assist with a variety of projects that have impact on the bank’s operations.

This role is hybrid, interns will come into their designated office at least 3 days a week.

Interns work approximately 40-hours per week.

Education
  • Currently enrolled in and working towards a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Agribusiness, or a related discipline and in good academic standing
Work Experience
  • Basic understanding of balance sheets, income statements and cash flows
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills in Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Aptitude for learning other software applications
  • Ability to perform research across multiple systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience in agriculture, banking, or financial services industry

The typical base pay range for this role is between $22 - $26. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
