Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking an Internal Audit External Quality Assessment Reviewer for state-level work. This remote-first, project-based role involves QA activities and potential client travel when needed.

You will perform external quality assessments, review charters and QAIP, interview stakeholders, and issue conformance opinions with actionable recommendations. CIA certification and 5+ years of internal audit experience are required for this engagement.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional experience in internal audit and external quality assessments.
• CIA certification is required for the role.
• Comfortable working as a 1099 project-based consultant.

Responsibilities

• Conduct external quality assessments against IIA Global Internal Audit Standards (and GAGAS where applicable).
• Review audit charters, methodology, workpapers, and QAIP.
• Interview stakeholders and benchmark practices.
• Issue the conformance opinion and recommendations.
• Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when naming is authorized.

AlphaGov is engaging an Internal Audit External Quality Assessment Reviewer for current state work. A state court system needs an external quality assurance review of its division of internal audit.

What you’ll do

• Conduct external quality assessments against IIA Global Internal Audit Standards (and GAGAS where applicable)
• Review audit charters, methodology, workpapers, and QAIP
• Interview stakeholders and benchmark practices
• Issue the conformance opinion and recommendations
• Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when you authorize naming

Required

• At least 5 years of professional experience in internal audit, including leading or serving on external quality assessments
• CIA certification
• Comfortable as a 1099 project-based consultant

Nice to have

• IIA QA certification / QAR training
• Government or judiciary audit experience
• CPA or CGAP
