Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications powering analytical workflows. You will build RESTful APIs with Flask, create responsive React UIs, and design data models with efficient SQL for reporting and analytics.

The role requires 3–5 years of software experience, strong Python skills, React front-end exposure, and solid DevOps with GitLab. Collaborative, Agile/Scrum teams across global regions work iteratively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineer experience.
• Python: 3–5 years of strong, hands-on Python development experience (pandas, NumPy).
• Front-End: 1–2 years building UIs with React and modern JavaScript.
• SQL & Data Modelling: Solid SQL skills and data modelling concepts.
• Version Control & DevOps: Hands-on with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Testing: Experience with unit/integration tests and TDD.
• Ways of Working: Fast-paced Agile/Scrum with global/remote teams.
• Preferred: Flask-based REST APIs; Kubernetes; Docker; OpenAPI/Swagger.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications, services, and automation.
• Build and expose secure RESTful APIs (Flask or similar) for internal apps.
• Develop responsive UIs using React and JavaScript.
• Design data models and write efficient SQL for reporting and analytics.
• Manage GitLab, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
• Package and deploy to containerized environments with platform teams.
• Champion engineering quality with unit/integration tests and TDD.
• Collaborate with product owners and audit stakeholders in Agile/Scrum.
