Job summary

Collin County Government is seeking an Accountant/Auditor to conduct financial and procedural audits, evaluate internal controls, and implement corrective actions under the direction of the Internal Audit Supervisor.

The role leads audits, plans workflows, develops audit work programs, answers data requests, and provides recommendations. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 2–3 years of auditing experience, plus a Texas driver's license, are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–3 years of general auditing and accounting experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial and procedural audits by evaluating internal controls and initiating corrective measures as directed by the supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with State and County mandated fees, fines, and costs by monitoring and tracking all County office disbursements.
• Respond to questions, provide required data, and make audit recommendations for each audit report.
• Serve as team leader during assigned audits by planning the workflow, assisting in developing audit work programs, and providing assistance as needed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
