Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union in Vienna, VA is seeking a Cognitive and Generative AI Engineering intern who will assist with AI engineering tasks, prototype AI agents, and contribute to AI platform governance and observability. You will partner with engineers and business stakeholders to deliver AI solutions, analyze results, and accelerate enterprise AI innovation.

Job description

The Cognitive and Generative AI Engineering team, part of the Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM) organization, builds innovative AI solutions that help scale AI adoption across Navy Federal Credit Union.

Responsibilities

• Assist with AI Engineering tasks and projects

• Understanding of Generative-AI concepts and Large Language Models (LLMs), including their applications and limitations
• Familiarity with Prompt Engineering, AI search techniques, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks
• Knowledge of Data Engineering, APIs, and cloud development

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM (minimum of 20-25 hours a week, based on school schedule)
