The Commercial organization manages the company’s worldwide commodity marketing and trading portfolio. Commercial works closely with the regional business units to market ConocoPhillips equity production and improve realized commodity values. In addition, the Commercial organization is responsible for generating value from third party marketing and trading. The Trading Analytics Intern supports ConocoPhillips' Strategy, Analytics & Portfolio Optimization organization, gaining hands‑on exposure across market analytics, economics and quantitative analytics work streams that underpin our trading, marketing, and risk decisions. These roles span our commodity portfolio of crude oil, NGLs, natural gas, power, and LNG. Depending on placement, interns will either support fundamental market analysis (supply/demand balances, price forecasting, and market intelligence) or quantitative modeling (pricing, simulation, and optimization), working alongside analysts, quants, and traders on live commercial projects. Interns will be paired with a supervisor, mentor, and buddy for the duration of the internship and will deliver a final project presentation to Commercial leadership. Intern assignments are offered at ConocoPhillips global headquarters located in Houston, Texas. Typical length of our internships varies from 10 to 14 weeks based on the project and your availability.
