Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories invites applications for an Intern, Technical Undergraduate Year-Round in Enterprise Network Services. This hybrid role combines onsite and offsite work, with a focus on designing, deploying, operating, and resolving complex enterprise network challenges across internal and partner networks.

Intern, Technical Undergraduate Year-Round - Enterprise Network Services, Hybrid

We are seeking a Year Round - Technical Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team!

On any given day, you may called on to:

Assist senior staff and learn from their expertise as you help design, deploy, operate, maintain, and resolve enterprise network challenges related to network services and traffic controls.

Work with SNL Corporate networks, remote SNL and business partner networks, as well as emerging purpose-built enclaves.

Collaborate with Cyber Security and Networking teams to architect and engineer customized network flow and behavior solutions.

Responsibilities will include: troubleshooting and identifying workflow, traffic, and service impacts.

Gain experience in automation and software development, while working with a variety of operating systems, including both Windows and Linux.

The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Salary Range:

At Sandia, we value the important work done by our interns and its contribution to National Security. Because of this, our interns earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0

Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer

Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Note: If you have not earned a HS diploma or equivalent, please apply to a high school intern position.

Qualifications We Desire:

Pursuing a degree in computer science, management information systems and/or information assurance

Ability to collaborate with senior staff to gain experience in designing, documenting, implementing, troubleshooting, and managing enterprise network infrastructures.

Demonstrate proficiency in one or more computer science languages, such as Python, Ansible, C++, or Java.

Possess knowledge of network communication protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTPS, IPSec, SNMP, and related protocols. Understand automation principles.

Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems.

Security Clearance:
