Job summary

Doist is seeking a Tax Intern to assist on personal, fiduciary, S-Corporation, partnership, and gift tax returns while gaining hands-on experience in tax planning and compliance.

The role provides hands-on learning through real client work and interaction with tax professionals, offering exposure to firm processes, confidentiality standards, and professional development opportunities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with expected graduation within 24 months.
• Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
• Preferred: pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of tax returns, income tax projects, estimated tax vouchers, extension forms, and supporting work papers under the guidance of experienced tax professionals.
• Organize and maintain client tax files and electronic records while assisting with administrative and task compliance support tasks, including gathering information for billing and other client service needs.
• Prepare supporting schedules, reconcile client information, and review tax documents for completeness and accuracy prior to preparation and filing.
• Participate in training sessions, associate meetings, and professional development opportunities to build technical tax knowledge and gain exposure to firm processes and best practices.
• Conduct basic test research and assist with gathering information related to inquiries from taxing authorities and changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Learn and follow the firm's quality control procedures, professional standards, and confidentiality requirements throughout all assignments.
• Collaborate with tax and wealth advisory teams to gain exposure to integrated tax and financial planning concepts and support client service initiatives.
• Assist with special projects and other assignments that support the tax team and enhance the overall client experience.

The role provides hands‑on learning through real client work, allowing interns to develop foundational knowledge of tax planning and compliance.

Required Education and Experience
