Job summary

L3Harris is seeking an Intern, Supply Chain Management for Northampton, MA, to support material planning and cross-functional program execution. This internship sits within the Maritime team and involves collaboration with Program office, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Contracts, Operations, and the Customer.

The SCPM intern will help develop material strategies, manage SSOW, monitor budget and forecasts, and learn risk management and regulatory requirements in a dynamic defense-tech environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management or related field.
  • Proficiency in SAP S4 Hanna.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or other Lean experience.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, assembly and ATP processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the Material Management Plan and execute Supply Chain strategies and actions to support the program lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain open channels of communication between the Supply Chain and Program teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to create a common schedule-based MRPs.
  • Support compliance with internal policies and external laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate Subcontracts involvement with SSOW and supplier relationships.
  • Support material financial budgets and forecasts, and analyze KPIs.

Job Description:

The Supply Chain Program Manager (SCPM) supports a cross-functional team to develop the Supply Chain strategy and material execution plan for assigned programs. This position is located in Northampton, MA and is part of the L3Harris Maritime team. In this role, the SCPM will collaborate across functions as part of the Supply Chain team, serving as a key interface to the Program office, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Contracts, Operations, and the Customer. This individual will function as a Subject Matter Expert in Supply Chain and Programmatic Practices. The SCPM is responsible for the material plan development and coordination, execution of program material strategies, material cost and schedule, Supply Chain objectives and material enterprise objectives. The SCPM is also responsible for compliance with internal and external regulations with respect to materials and subcontracts, with a focus on risk and opportunity management.

Essential Functions:

Leadership and Communication:

  • Develop the Material Management Plan and execute Supply Chain strategies and actions to support the program lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain open channels of communication between the Supply Chain and Program teams, removing obstacles and ensuring alignment with business goals.

Management:

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to create a common schedule-based Material Requirements Plan (MRP).
  • Support compliance with all internal policies and external laws and regulations.
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to develop and support strategic supplier relationships to be sure Category Management opportunities are explored. Confirm that strategies are aligned with Category Management initiatives.
  • Coordinate Subcontracts involvement with requirements development and review Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW).

Financial Oversight:

  • Supports material financial budget and forecasts for assigned programs to provide timely and accurate forecasts, variance explanations, and provide input to formal EACs.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and identify challenged areas, championing continued improvements

Qualifications:

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management or related field

Preferred Skills:

  • Supply Chain Major in a classroom setting
  • Proficiency in SAP S4 Hanna
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or other Lean Experience
  • Knowledge of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, assembly and ATP processes.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $21.00/hour - $41.50/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
