Responsibilities

• Support part qualification and evaluation activities (prototype and sustaining manufacturing).
• Support supplier audit activities related to validation and ongoing management of quality execution capabilities.
• Monitor supplier quality performance using Plexus and supplier data.
• Assist in problem part resolution through all phases of operations.
• Support supplier corrective action and continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist containment, segregation, NCM review, and trend analysis for supplied parts.
• Coordinate reporting and notifications to suppliers for cost-recovery on non-conforming parts.
• Support alternative supplier selection and RI activities.
• Participate in customer-facing supplier quality activities.
• Travel as needed to meet business needs.

The rate offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Hourly Rate:

$22 - $26/hr.

OVERVIEW

The Supplier Quality Engineer Intern will be acting as a liaison between operations, suppliers, and the Supplier Quality Department, to ensure that overall specifications, quality/regulatory requirements, and expectations are met for purchased products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support part qualification and evaluation activities (both prototype and sustaining manufacturing) resulting in acceptable and consistent supply. Includes external activities (establishing part quality requirements, APQP, PPAP, etc.) and internal activities (sampling plans, inspection processes, etc.)
• Support supplier audit activities related to both validation and on-going management of quality execution capabilities
• Monitoring supplier quality performance based on analysis of Plexus and supplier performance data
• Support problem part resolution through all phases of operations
• Responsible for supporting supplier corrective action and continuous improvement activities
• Support containment, segregation, NCM review, and trend analysis processes activities relative to supplied parts
• Facilitate reporting and notifying suppliers of cost-recovery requirements resulting from the need to contain, segregate or handle non-conforming parts
• Support alternative supplier selection
• Support RI activities and process effectiveness
• Participates in customer-facing supplier quality activities
• Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field for the entire duration of internship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Junior level status
• GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
