Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Greenville, TX is seeking an Intern, Structural Engineer to join the Aeronautical Systems Engineering team for a Summer/Fall co-op term. You will perform structural analyses of aircraft structures using hand methods and finite element models to predict loads and stresses.

Collaborating with design engineers, you will document analyses, develop test plans, and contribute to margins of safety and airworthiness compliance for multiple aircraft platforms.

Qualifications

• Collaborate with Design Engineers to substantiate aircraft modifications and installations and ensure airworthiness.
• Generate free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses.
• Document structural analysis in formal reports to show compliance with airworthiness requirements.
• Develop structural tests and post-process results to establish allowable strength data.
• Manage personal work to stay within scope, budget, and schedule for assigned tasks.

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking qualified individuals to join our Aeronautical Systems Engineering team as an Associate Stress Engineer. In this role, you will perform structural analysis of aircraft structure using classical analysis methods to develop free body diagrams, calculate internal loads and stresses, and write margins of safety. Stress Engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft modifications on various aircraft platforms.

Essential Functions:
