Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Clifton, NJ, is seeking an Intern, Software Engineering to contribute to embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment. You will apply CS, engineering, and math concepts, work with cross-functional teams, and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a related field; you will use languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, and more on Windows, Linux, and RTOS

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in a related field at an accredited university.
• Strong foundation in software development and embedded systems.
• Experience with multiple programming languages is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply CS and engineering concepts to develop software for target applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to evaluate interfaces and requirements.
• Support all phases of the software development life cycle for embedded real-time systems.
• Develop software test procedures and documentation.
• Use modeling tools to establish operating data and conduct tests.
• Participate in peer reviews and defect tracking.

Job Description:

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application
• Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
• Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment
• Develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation
• Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
• Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
• Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt) on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)

Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or a PhD in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences or related field at an accredited university.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $29.00 - $53.50 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
