Position Summary

Millwood Hospital (a UHS affiliated hospital) is a 134-bed mental health facility that provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment. Millwood’s caring, multidisciplinary staff has successfully provided care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults since 1971. The hospital is located in Arlington, TX, less than 35 minutes from DFW International Airport.

Internship summary: Students will be supervised by a Licensed Social Worker at our Excel Branches facility in Arlington, TX. Learn how our facility impacts the community and participate in treatment teams with a multidisciplinary team approach. This is an unpaid internship.

Location: 1111 N. Cooper Street, Arlington, TX 76011

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Bio-psychosocial assessments
• Discharge planning and identifying resources within the community for aftercare
• Psychoeducational groups and therapeutic processing groups

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program for social work, counseling or other related field and has met the requirements to participate in a practicum/internship
• Letter of recommendation from Practicum Advisor
• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling or another related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Successful completion of background and drug screenings
