Job summary

JX Enterprises, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Service Department Intern to assist in daily shop operations under the Service Manager. This part-time apprentice program works around your summer and school schedule, with a flexible shift.

You will help keep the shop clean, deliver parts to technicians, move trucks as directed, and learn the service business while treating customers with courtesy. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; forklift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge or aptitude required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Keep the shop clean and organized.
• Deliver parts to shop technicians quickly and efficiently.
• Pull trucks in and out of the shop as directed by the Service Advisor(s).
• Learn the service business and grow within the organization.
• Treat customers in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
• Support and increase technician proficiency/efficiency.

Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Department Intern will be assigned to various duties in the Service Department that interacts, participates and assists the effective operation of the shop. This is a part-time apprentice program for students. The shift is flexible and we will work around your summer and school schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of shop
• Cleaning responsibilities include but are not limited to cleaning bays, emptying garbage, etc
• Deliver parts as quickly and efficiently as possible to shop technicians
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of shop
• Pull trucks into and out of the shop as directed by the Service Advisor(s)
• Must desire the opportunity to learn the business and grow within the business
• Must treat customers in a diplomatic and courteous manner
• Other duties as assigned to support and increase technician proficiency/efficiency
