Job summary

Saint Joseph London, part of CommonSpirit Health, offers an internship for Respiratory Care Students to gain hands-on experience in a regional hospital setting. You will assist with daily operations and patient care under supervision, applying classroom knowledge in real patient scenarios.

Requirements include enrollment in an accredited respiratory therapy program, GPA 2.0 or higher, and Kentucky licensure/certification prerequisites such as BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• Eagerness to learn and ability to contribute to a clinical team.
• Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program and maintain a minimum GPA.
• Certification and licensure requirements including KY Respiratory Care Practitioner and BLS/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Administers non-medicated aerosol and humidity therapy.
• Administers oxygen therapy following protocol where appropriate.
• Administers aerosolized medication.
• Administers incentive spirometry.
• Cleans and reprocesses respiratory therapy equipment.
• Performs bronchial hygiene and chest physiotherapy as per protocol.

• Administers non-medicated aerosol and humidity therapy.
• Administers oxygen therapy (including implementation of oxygen therapy protocol where appropriate).
• Administers aerosolized medication.
• Administers incentive spirometry.
• Cleans and reprocesses respiratory therapy equipment.
• Administers bronchial hygiene and performs chest physiotherapy (including implementation of bronchial hygiene protocol where appropriate).

Job Requirements

Required

• Certificate Other Hold a Limited Mandatory Certificate issued by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care; licensure must be maintained throughout employment as a Respiratory Care Student Practitioner., upon hire and
• Completed the equivalent of one year of an accredited respiratory therapy educational program with a minimum GPA of 2.0. , upon hire and
• Shall remain enrolled in said accredited respiratory therapy educational program while maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0 throughout his/her employment as a Respiratory Care Student Practitioner., upon hire
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: KY, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
