Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking an R&D Test Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. The intern will support the TF R&D team at CFS-1 by assisting in designing and building test stand components for SPARC TF magnet components. The position is based in Devens, MA, with compensation ranging from $23 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.

The R&D Intern will work with the TF R&D team primarily at CFS-1, to de-risk SPARC TF magnet components. The responsibilities include supporting engineers in designing and building test stand components/fixtures for testing, and conducting tests and analysis to obtain high quality data that informs actionable recommendations on an aggressive schedule supporting magnet technology development.
Hourly rate: $23–$35 per hour.
