Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Quality Assurance Intern to join the Quality Assurance Team in Baltimore, MD. The 11‑week, full‑time paid internship provides hands‑on work on QA records, archiving, and regulatory compliance within a global diagnostics context.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in life sciences or biomedical programs and eager to learn QA tools, data analysis and quality systems. Compensation includes relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering

  • Assist with archiving records from medical device development and production
  • Audit historical records to ensure information is organized and available
  • Learn to create reports from an eQMS (electronic Quality Management System)
  • Establish electronic indexes and matrices to organize Quality Management System documents
  • Become familiar with medical device Quality Assurance and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in Quality Assurance projects as needed
  • Participate in Post‑Market Surveillance data review
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedure

Labcorp is seeking a Quality Assurance Intern to join our Quality Assurance Team located in Baltimore, MD.

Work Schedule: 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure records are reviewed, organized and made available electronically.
  • Assist with archiving records from medical device development and production.
  • Audit historical records to ensure information is organized and available.
  • Opportunity to develop filing systems and re‑organize quality system records.
  • Learn to create reports from an eQMS (electronic Quality Management System).
  • Establish electronic indexes and matrices to organize Quality Management System documents so information is readily available.
  • Become familiar with medical device Quality Assurance and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in Quality Assurance projects as needed.
  • Participate in Post‑Market Surveillance data review
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedure.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering

  • Eagerness to learn quality tools and data analysis
  • Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Maintains professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Interested in medical device document management systems or a Quality Assurance role.
  • Ability to create filing systems to manage documents and records.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Can handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools and ability to learn an eQMS software.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and colleagues in a professional setting.

About The Team

The PGDx Quality Assurance Team ensures the suitability, safety and effectiveness of next generation sequencing (NGS) medical devices that are developed, manufactured and distributed from our Baltimore, MD site. We provide expertise and leadership in the areas of corrective and preventive action, manufacturing process controls, inventory management, process assurance, quality system requirements and process monitoring.

Internship Details
  • Duration: 11 weeks, full‑time
  • Dates of Internship: June 1, 2027‑August 13, 2027
  • Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
  • Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Pay Range: $17.75-$20/hr

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
