*APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.
Position Description: The Network Analyst intern will assist Network Technologies staff with projects and documentation necessary to maintain the state's relevant networks and systems. Duties to include but not be limited to: network documentation, review and audit of existing systems/databases for accuracy, diagramming and mapping of systems, network device configuration and installation, and assisting with on demand tasks and duties. Network devices being carried may weigh up to 50 pounds. Applicants are required to include a resume with their application.
Qualified applicants should have a valid driver's license, and possess excellent communications, scheduling, and organizational abilities. Well qualified applicants will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and able to travel as necessary. Experience with computers and technology including Windows and Microsoft Office is required. Well qualified applicants will be pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, or similar Information Technology or related field. Excellent writing, phone, and customer service skills preferred.
Qualifications: Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
