Job summary

Halff is seeking a Land Development Intern for our Tampa, FL office. You will assist in the design and construction observation of diverse infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage, and land development works.

The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, with full-time hours (40 hours/week, 8a–5p). Halff emphasizes learning, collaboration, and professional growth in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work in teams and build relationships.
Self-motivated with solid organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Assist in plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water/Wastewater, Public Works, and Land Development.
Perform drafting CAD work.
Perform calculations and analyses for design projects.
Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents.
Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

Land Development Intern

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Land Development team in our Tampa, FL office. The Civil Engineer Intern should be interested in the design and construction observation for a wide range of public and private infrastructure projects. Projects include, yet are not limited to roadways, drainage systems, civil site work and associated civil improvements in land development as well as public parks and trails facilities.

The internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.

Halff does not pay for or provide housing for Internships.

What You Will Do

Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water/Wastewater, Public Works, and Land Development projects
Perform drafting CAD work
Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

What You Will Need

Pursuing Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
Great communication skills
Solid relationship and team building skills
Self-motivated and strong organization skills
