Job summary

Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft (BMW) is offering a Spring 2027 Full-Time Internship in Mountain View, CA. This hybrid role supports the development of AI-powered in-car entertainment features, with hands-on coding, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration.

Undergraduate and graduate students with strong coding skills in Python and Android Automotive, plus ability to work 36.25 hours per week, are invited to apply. Relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
• US Work Authorization required.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall, not just major).
• Completed at least 60 college credit hours at the time of application.
• Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week).
• Must submit an unofficial college transcript with your application.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the Market Trends and innovations in In-Car Entertainment.
• Assist in the development and integration of AI-powered features for Entertainment.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal AI tooling and simulation environments (e.g. CES Planning Tool).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, UX designers, and product managers.
• Transfer the best prototype into an android automotive app, which runs on a test rack and a development car.
• Gain hands-on experience in the application of AI and machine learning in a real-world automotive context.
• Develop skills in rapid prototyping, software development, and the creation of intelligent devices.
• Design, Implemented, deploy and test new coding features.

• Field of Study: Computer Science or other related fields.
• Business fluent English.
• Experience in coding in Phyton, coding in Android Automotive, integrating LLM results with existing/new APIs.
• Open and good communication skills, self-organized.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. This is a hybrid role that requires in office days at the Mountain View, CA office.

Undergraduate students: Hourly rate is $32.50. Graduate students: Hourly rate is $40.00.

The selected student's current academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
