Job summary

The First National Bank & Trust Co. of Newtown offers a paid Summer Internship program for students pursuing degrees in accounting, business, finance, or economics.

Intern I will rotate across multiple branches in Bucks County, gaining hands-on experience in customer service, operations, and various bank departments. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:30 am–5:15 pm with occasional Saturdays; internship runs approximately 10–14 weeks from mid-May to mid-August.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly, professional service to customers in person and by phone.
  • Assist customers with routine banking transactions and account inquiries.
  • Learn how to identify customer needs and recommend products and services that may benefit them.
  • Demonstrate digital banking tools, including online, mobile, and telephone banking services.
  • Help ensure an exceptional customer experience through follow-up and problem resolution.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other banking transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Learn banking regulations, compliance requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Balance a teller drawer and develop skills in cash handling and transaction accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Explore diverse departments across branches: Human Resources, IT, Deposit Operations & Digital Banking, Loan Administration & Credit Analysis, Wealth Management, Finance & Control, Risk, Audit, Compliance & BSA.

Education And/or Experience
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program majoring in accounting, or business, finance, or economics with a strong influence of accounting and/or a related program.
Clearly communicates in English; moderate reading, writing and grammar skills; proficient analytical and mathematics skills; proficient communicative and interpersonal relations skills; ability to build professional relationships and rapport.
