Job summary

Smeal is a premier manufacturer of fire apparatus and related equipment, providing custom pumpers and aerial devices. The Internship is designed to support the assigned department with hands-on drafting, document control, and clerical tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include CAD work in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, preparing files, handling mail, and assisting with timekeeping and small projects.

Responsibilities

• Create file folders and file corresponding documents.
• Retrieve and record messages from phone queues and distribute them.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail; manage outgoing mail.
• Assist department in obtaining files as requested.
• Complete tasks on time based on priorities while maintaining quality.
• Work efficiently while delivering accurate results.
• Engineering specific tasks and CAD work.
• Create/revise drawings and parts in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Create and assign part numbers to new parts.
• Assist with timekeeping and tracking; support small projects as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

SUMMARY :

The Intern position is responsible for providing support to their assigned department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create file folders and file corresponding documents
• Retrieve and accurately record messages from all phone queues at regular intervals throughout the day and distribute messages appropriately
• Receive, sort, and accurately distribute all incoming mail and oversee outgoing mail
• Assist department in obtaining files, as requested
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner based on priorities
• Work quickly and effectively while maintaining quality of work
• Engineering Specific
• Create/revise drawings, installations, assemblies, and parts in AutoCad and SolidWorks
• Create and assign part numbers to new parts
• Assist with time keeping and tracking
• Complete small special projects, as needed
• Other tasks as assigned
