Job summary

The National Milk Producers Federation offers a 10-12 week summer internship in the Washington D.C. metro area. Interns will explore the intersection of U.S.

dairy policy, regulatory affairs, and trade, learning from seasoned staff across government relations, regulatory affairs, trade, communications, and more. You'll gain hands-on experience through research, writing, and edits of regulatory comments, plus opportunities to attend industry meetings and develop member-focused communications.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as Junior, Senior or Graduate Degree student in related fields.
• Must be available in DC for the duration of the internship.
• Must have excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Job description

The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) is offering a 10-12 week summer internship in the Washington D.C. metro area. This internship offers students the unique opportunity to better understand the intersection of U.S. dairy industry policy, regulatory affairs, and trade. Interns will have the opportunity to learn from NMPF’s expert staff, covering areas including government relations, regulatory affairs, trade, communications, membership services and the National Dairy FARM Program.

• Support our dynamic regulatory team, where you'll be at the forefront of critical nutrition, food safety and labeling initiatives. Your journey will involve in-depth research and collaborative editing of comments submitted to regulatory agencies. Through this, you'll master the art of clear, concise communication, learn to navigate complex topics, and develop a persuasive voice that champions the interests of NMPF members.

• Extract key insights that will influence our strategic decisions. You'll gain knowledge in data analysis, learn to draw meaningful interpretations, and acquire the skill to present your findings compellingly to the team.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled Junior, Senior or Graduate Degree student pursuing degrees in dairy, agriculture, food science, social responsibility, economics or related fields
• Must be available and in D.C. for the duration of the internship
• Must have excellent research, writing, and communication skills

• 7.5 hour work day
