RAVN Group ("RAVN") is pushing the boundaries of innovation in the aviation industry, focusing on cutting-edge technology and advanced aerospace solutions. As part of the RAVN team, you'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing pilot training on military-grade aircraft and aerospace engineering in the defense sector. RAVN provides combat and high-maneuver training for pilots, RDT&E, and maintenance services with its fully owned fleet of aircraft.
The Flight Operations Technology & AI Intern will support RAVN's Flight Operations team by helping design better processes, develop useful tools, automate repetitive work, and explore practical applications of artificial intelligence within real-world aviation operations. This is a hands-on internship designed for a motivated college or university student who enjoys understanding how systems and processes work and identifying better ways to accomplish operational tasks. The intern will have opportunities to take ideas from concept through prototype and, where practical, help deploy solutions into day-to-day operations. Projects may include developing tools to improve flight scheduling, resource planning, pilot utilization, and operational reporting; automating manual processes; building dashboards and lightweight applications; organizing operational data; and evaluating practical applications of AI and generative AI. This internship is intended to provide meaningful project experience rather than observation or routine administrative work. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build solutions that may directly influence how RAVN conducts its flight operations.
Regular use of computers and other standard office equipment. Regular use of hands and fingers to operate computers, tools, or controls. Ability to work in an office and aviation operations environment. Periodic work around aircraft, hangars, or other operational areas may be required. Specific work hours will be determined by academic schedules and operational or departmental requirements. The position is expected to require approximately 10–20 hours per week with flexibility around the intern's academic schedule. The ideal candidate is located in the Salt Lake City area and can periodically work with the team in person. Strong candidates who can work remotely may also be considered. Other duties as assigned.
Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete an I-9 Form. Must meet applicable company requirements for access to RAVN facilities and operational environments.
