This role is required to attend in-services, annual reviews, and educational programs, staying knowledgeable about Echocardiography procedures, equipment, and relevant changes in the fieldJOB FUNCTIONSPerforms high quality/cost effective diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a Registered Cardiac or Vascular Sonographer.Assists Physicians and medical staff during procedures as requested/required.Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner.Communicates effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, other medical staff and NMMC staff members.Attends required in-services, annual review and educational programs.Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Echocardiology examinations.Stays abreast of changes in Echocardiography.Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.All other duties as assigned.Knowledge Skills and Abilities• Good written and verbal communication; required• Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics; required• Serves patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.• Perform Echocardiography procedures under the direction of a Registered Echocardiographer• Perform with a high level of professional and ethical conduct at all times• Maintain all of the NMHS Behavioral Standards.• Detailed oriented• Must have extensive contact with: Physicians, co-workers, patients/family members• Must have good written and verbal communication skills• Must reflect a positive, caring attitude and presence toward clients, patients, staff and the public we serve• Ability to work well under pressure while providing a high level of carePhysical DemandsA thorough completion of this section is needed for compliance with legal standards such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.
