Job summary

Itron is seeking a summer Intern - Data Analytics and Automation in Finance to gain hands-on experience modernizing finance processes, building automation, performing advanced analytics, and exploring AI-enabled solutions within a global enterprise.

The role supports data-driven decision making across Oracle EBS/EPM, Salesforce, and BI platforms while collaborating with data scientists, software engineers, and Finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Education: enrolled in accredited degree program in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, MIS, Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Extract, ingest, and analyze data from Oracle EBS, Oracle EPM, Salesforce and other sources.
• Support data transformation and normalization for analytics and reporting.
• Develop data models and analyses to support Finance and Accounting needs.
• Build data visualizations using Power BI or similar tools.
• Identify opportunities to automate Finance and Accounting processes, including AI-enabled tools.
• Support predictive analytics and ML initiatives related to revenue and forecasting.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to projects forecasting sales opportunity and pipeline for long-term planning.
• Deliver an internship summary presentation with outcomes and recommendations.

This Intern - Data Analytics and Automation, Finance position provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting Finance and Accounting modernization, process automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled solutions within a global multinational enterprise.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in applying data and technology to real-world business challenges and will have experience through coursework, projects, or prior work with data analysis, statistics, programming, or related technologies.

Duration: 40 hours per week during summer 2027. The target start is May/June, and the internship concludes August/September, depending on the student’s academic schedule.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Extract, ingest, and analyze data from enterprise systems such as Oracle EBS, Oracle EPM, Salesforce, and other business data sources.
• Support data transformation and normalization for use in analytics platforms, reporting, and business applications.
• Develop data models, analyses, and visualizations to support Finance and Accounting business needs.
• Build and enhance data visualizations based on business requirements using Microsoft Power BI or comparable visualization tools.
• Identify opportunities to automate repeatable Finance and Accounting processes, including potential applications of AI-enabled tools and agents.
• Support predictive analytics and machine learning initiatives related to revenue, expense, and business forecasting.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analytics professionals, software engineers, and Finance and Accounting stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to projects focused on improving sales opportunity and pipeline forecasting to support long-term business planning.
• Deliver an internship summary presentation highlighting project outcomes, insights, and recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education: enrolled in an accredited and related degree program such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with statistical analysis through
• Exposure to machine learning, predictive modeling, or related analytical concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience using Python or R for data analysis, coursework, projects, or other applications.
• Familiarity with SQL.
• Experience or exposure to large-scale data and analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or AWS.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with machine learning models used for forecasting or predictive analytics.
• Prior related internship, academic project, capstone, research, or work experience.

This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

This position will be tied to our Liberty Lake, WA location with hybrid work flexibility of 2 days on-site per week.

Liberty Lake, WA: $15.87 - $44.23 per hour
