From your first day, you’ll be part of a fast‑growing team of smart, curious, and driven people who enjoy solving complex problems. You’ll learn by working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to projects for leading law firms, global companies, and major institutions.

Our teams collaborate across offices and disciplines, bringing energy, fresh thinking, and commitment to every client challenge. We invest in your growth through hands‑on experience, mentorship, professional development, recognition, and a culture that values diverse perspectives.

Start your career where your work matters. Make your impact at Secretariat.

ABOUT Our Damages & Valuations team

Our Damages & Valuations team sits at the intersection of finance, data, strategy, and the law. We help clients answer high‑stakes questions when businesses, investors, and legal teams need to understand what something is worth, how much money may have been lost, and what the financial evidence really shows. Our work supports complex disputes, arbitration matters, and business challenges around the world—giving team members exposure to real‑world problems where their analysis can directly influence important decisions.

As part of this team, you will collaborate with accountants, economists, PhDs, business valuation experts, investment analysts, and industry specialists to investigate complex issues, analyze data, and translate financial information into clear, persuasive insights. It is challenging, fast‑moving work that helps early‑career professionals build consulting skills quickly, learn from recognized experts, and see how their work connects to major business and legal outcomes. The team’s work is highly regarded: Secretariat was ranked #1 in Global Arbitration Review’s Expert Witness Firm Power Index in 2024 and 2025, and more than 90% of our testifying experts are recognized as leading experts by Who's Who Legal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be part of a growing domestic and international practice where strong analytical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and clear communication are essential. Associates are actively involved in meaningful project work from the start—helping the team uncover facts, analyze financial information, and develop insights that support high‑stakes client matters.

  • Dig into case documents, research materials, and discovery records to understand the facts behind complex disputes
  • Analyze financial statements, business records, market data, and other evidence to help quantify damages and support valuation work
  • Build models, organize data, and develop analyses that help explain financial issues clearly and accurately
  • Contribute to reports, presentations, and client‑ready materials that turn detailed analysis into compelling insights
  • Work closely with senior consultants and experts, gaining hands‑on experience in litigation support, valuation, damages analysis, and economic consulting

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving puzzles, working with numbers, asking thoughtful questions, and learning how financial analysis can make a real impact in business and legal settings. The ideal candidate is coachable, intellectually curious, detail‑oriented, and excited to grow in a collaborative consulting environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another analytically rigorous discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new concepts and ask thoughtful questions
  • Interest or experience in economic consulting, litigation support, valuation, damages analysis, finance, accounting, data analysis, or other research‑intensive work
  • Experience with research projects, undergraduate theses, consulting internships, data analytics internships, finance‑related work, or similar experiences that demonstrate ownership of complex work
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with tools such as Stata, R, Python, or SQL is helpful, along with an eagerness to continue building technical skills
  • Comfort working with data, conducting research, organizing information clearly, and using emerging tools, including AI, to improve efficiency, quality, and analytical rigor
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through, with the ability to balance multiple assignments and communicate proactively
  • Ability to stay focused, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented when priorities shift or deadlines are tight
  • Clear listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a thoughtful and professional way; fluency in English for business communication is required
  • Interest in professional development or credentials such as CPA, CFA, CVA, or ASA is a plus, but not required to apply
