Job summary

Itron is seeking a paid intern for corporate financial planning & analysis, based in Liberty Lake, WA, with hybrid work flexibility (2 days on-site per week). The role supports the Global FP&A team, focusing on monthly closings, forecasts, and reporting in a multinational setting.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a finance-related degree, have strong Excel skills, and can communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program with at least three years of college coursework (Finance or related).
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, graphs, formulas).
• Strong workplace communication skills and understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly/quarterly closing deliverables.
• Prepare reports for financial plans and operating forecasts for G&A and total company.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support forecasts and variance reporting of actuals vs. budget.
• Coordinate FP&A monitoring processes and drive project completion to senior management.

This paid intern opportunity will give a student the ability to gain real-world experience in the field of corporate financial planning & analysis in a global multinational enterprise. The ideal candidate will be preparing for a career in corporate finance and will have experience using the Microsoft Suite of software applications. The candidate will assist the Global FP&A department in routine and strategic project tasks.

Duration:

40 hours per week during summer 2027. The target start is May/June, and will conclude August/September, depending on student's academic schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Corporate deliverables – assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly closing requirements
• Assist in preparing reports for financial plans and operating forecasts for specific corporate functions (G&A) and total company
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including working with others on continuous improvement initiatives
• Support forecasts, monthly and quarterly performance reporting of actuals vs. budget
• Help coordinate the monitoring of and processes related to Financial Planning & Analysis
• Drive a project to completion and present it to senior management

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education: enrolled in an accredited and related degree program with completion of at least three years of college-level coursework (Finance or related)
• Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel skills (Pivot tables, vlookup, charts, graphs, formulas and financial functions)
• Professional workplace communication skills
• Understanding of financial planning, analysis and reporting
• Experience using digital workplace collaboration tools and resources (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Completion of advanced corporate finance courses
• Prior corporate finance experience
• Experience using Oracle

This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

This position will be tied to our Liberty Lake, WA location with hybrid work flexibility of 2 days on-site per week.

Liberty Lake, WA: $15.87 - $44.23 per hour
