The Hanover Insurance Group invites college students to join a 10-week Summer Internship in Dallas, TX, hybrid (2 days in-office). You will work with our Contract Surety team on underwriting support, analytics, and data preparation while being mentored by industry professionals.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a 3.0+ GPA, eager to learn, and able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or advanced degree program.

Responsibilities

  • Support underwriting functions with assigned Underwriters, Technicians, and Associates.
  • Assist with underwriting transactions, service standards, agency relationships, and compliance rules.
  • Prepare and provide key data and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Perform line of business analyses to evaluate accounts.
  • Create and present a final internship summary for management at program end.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job.

Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:

  • Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry

  • Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
  • Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

Our Contract Surety team is seeking exceptional college students for our Summer Internship Program, which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options. This position is open to candidates in Dallas, TX in a hybrid model (2x a week in office).

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Support various underwriting functions in partnership with assigned Underwriters, Technicians, and Associates
  • Assist with underwriting transactions, service standards, agency relationships, and compliance rules and documentation
  • Prepare and provide key data and follow up on outstanding issues
  • Perform line of business (LOB) analyses to evaluate accounts
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree or advanced degree program
  • Preferred majors: Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, Economics, Business
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Marketing and sales orientation
  • Entrepreneurial minded and innovative
  • Ability to problem solve and leverage available resources
  • Service oriented with a high level of responsiveness
