Job summary

Baker Hughes Internship Program offers hands-on sourcing experience for students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. You will learn supplier evaluation, relationship management, and procurement activities under guidance from a buddy and manager.

As an Intern, you’ll gain exposure to HS&E culture while supporting inventory management, purchase orders, and vendor communications. Eligible candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and be able to relocate as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent is required.
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in evaluating and assessing potential suppliers and vendors to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Support management of relationships with existing suppliers, including communications and performance reviews.
• Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure critical materials are available while minimizing excess stock.
• Create, process, and track purchase orders for materials and services.
• Apply HS&E standards in all situations to ensure compliance.

You’ll participate in focused training, and team meetings, work on projects, and present your results. During your internship, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset.

As an Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating in the evaluation and assessment of potential suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet the company’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Supporting the management of relationships with existing suppliers, including communication, performance evaluations, and issue resolution.
• Assisting in managing inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of critical materials while minimizing excess inventory costs.
• Supporting in the creation, processing, and tracking of purchase orders for materials and services.
• Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be currently enrolled in a Bachelors’ or Masters’ level degree in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, other STEM-related or business related program.
• Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country
• Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
• Be able to relocate for the duration of your internship (locations vary)
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must maintain work authorization throughout their employment without requiring sponsorship by Baker Hughes, now or in the future.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22-$44
