Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, or related field required. Rising junior or senior preferred.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA preferred.
• Previous internship, work experience, leadership involvement, tutoring, student organizations, or other relevant experiences preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support growth initiatives through market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights.
• Analyze sales and customer data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
• Assist in quantitative analysis to understand whether marketing programs are driving the desired behaviors.
• Partner with sales & marketing teams to develop tools that activate initiatives in the marketplace.
• Create training plans that help trade partners learn relevant topics in the industry.
• Participate in professional development, networking opportunities, and team projects.
• Present project findings and recommendations to team members and leaders at internship conclusion.

We are looking for a Channel Performance intern to join our Channel Performance team in Muscatine, IA during Summer 2027! The Channel Performance Intern will support strategies that improve trade partner capabilities and drive revenue growth for HNI Workplace Furnishings' brands.

HNI's summer internship program is a great opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a professional sales organization. You'll work on high-impact projects that support business growth while developing the foundational skills needed for a successful career in sales. HNI's large, paid internship program includes exposure to leadership, professional development opportunities (Lunch and Learns, training, skill-building workshops), mentoring, volunteer opportunities, and social events.

The Channel Performance team is focused on creating better sales outcomes by leveraging analytics, technology, and strong customer relationships to drive growth and build loyalty with our dealers and trade partners. This internship serves as a key talent pipeline for HNI's Channel Performance development program. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time Channel Performance Development opportunities upon graduation.

As a Channel Performance intern, you may:

What You Have:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, or related field required. Rising junior or senior preferred.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA preferred
• Previous internship, work experience, leadership involvement, tutoring, student organizations, or other relevant experiences preferred

What You're Good At:

• Self-starter with high personal motivation and desire to take initiative and ownership
• Strong experience managing projects (school or work related)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Dedicated team-player, strong communication, interpersonal and time-management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with Power BI is a plus

The Internship Experience:

This internship combines day-to-day involvement in Channel Performance with a meaningful project or portfolio of projects that the intern will help manage through completion.

This is a paid internship based in Muscatine, Iowa, and housing may be available, based on geographic need and housing capacity. Depending on the flexibility of the role, interns may also have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule.
