Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a BIM/VDC intern to join our Virtual Design and Construction team for the Mid-Atlantic region. This role supports project execution and client experience under the BIM Leader.

You will assist senior engineers, perform basic design deliverables for HVAC systems, and help develop BIM standards. Our internship and co-op program offers hands-on experience and potential future opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a BIM/VDC intern to join our Virtual Design and Construction team for our Mid-Atlantic region. This position is responsible for facilitating exceptional project execution and client experience. This position reports directly to the BIM Leader.

What you’ll do:

• Assist Senior BIM/VDC in design tasks as required.
• Perform basic deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, and specifications related to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems under supervision of Senior Engineers.
• Interprets client proposed BIM requirements for projects, provides feedback and budgeting to the divisions.
• Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement.
• Review applicable codes and criteria and examine field conditions as required to support design of project.

Pay:

For Maryland-based internship roles, the pay rate is set at $26.00 per hour, in alignment with program guidelines and market standards.
