Job summary

Plexus Corp. is seeking an Analog Engineer Intern to design and develop electrical hardware across multiple industries. You will work with a collaborative team of analog, digital, software, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing engineers through all product life-cycle stages, from concept to manufacturing transition.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, detailed measurements, and documentation aligned with quality processes. Internship compensation is hourly with location-based adjustments.

Qualifications

  • Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology for the internship.
  • Sophomore or Junior level status preferred.
  • GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and verify the hardware design using EDA tools.
  • Deliver prototype hardware to customers by implementing physical hardware design components and PCB layouts.
  • Analyze circuit designs with SPICE and finite element tools.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and bring up of prototype hardware in the lab.
  • Take detailed measurements using oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers to inform design improvements.
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, software, and mechanical engineers to review and improve designs.
  • Develop project documentation in accordance with quality and change management procedures.

Our commitment to pay range transparency fosters an equitable workplace, where everyone can feel valued. This is an internship position (Non-Exempt Salary); the hourly range is stated below. The rate offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Hourly Rate: $23 - $27/hr.

OVERVIEW

As an Analog Engineer at Plexus Engineering Solutions, you will design and develop electrical hardware for products across a wide range of industries. This role collaborates with talented digital, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and test engineers, and it sees all phases of the product development life cycle - from idea and concept; through requirements, design, and development; to transitioning to manufacturing and into the market.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement and verify the hardware design by using the appropriate EDA tools
  • Deliver prototype hardware to customers by implementing physical hardware design components, capturing schematics and supervising PCB layouts
  • Analyze circuit designs with simulation tools such as SPICE and finite element tools
  • Perform hands-on, in-the-lab, troubleshooting and bring up of prototype hardware
  • Take detailed measurements of hardware using standard electrical measurement tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers to assess circuit performance and inform design improvements
  • Work as a team with other analog, digital, software, and mechanical engineers to review and improve hardware designs
  • Develop project documentation in accordance with quality and change management procedures and guidelines to ensure project information is properly organized and archived
  • Participate in performance review to ensure employee continuous improvement and growth
  • Receive expert mentorship, guidance, and coaching from experienced hardware engineers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology for the entire duration of internship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Sophomore or Junior level status
  • GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
