Job summary

The New York Islanders Hockey Club is seeking an Accounting Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and monthly financial close from September to December 2025. You may support multiple entities within the organization and no prior accounting experience is required beyond a readiness to learn.

You must be proficient with basic computer programs and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment, with an office presence in Floral Park 1–2 days per

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college program studying Accounting and/or Finance.
• Awareness of accounting guidance and trends shaping professional sports.
• Excellent writing and research skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports, with a deeply passionate and loyal fan base that is second to none. In 2021, the New York Islanders moved to our new permanent home, UBS Arena. This state-of-the-art venue, which was built for hockey and made for music, is nestled within the historic Belmont Park - a storied landmark of New York. UBS Arena features best in class facilities and amenities, including premium suites, clubs, and lounges that offer boutique hospitality to elevate the guest experience. UBS Arena is part of a larger redevelopment project at Belmont Park, which aims to transform the area into a vibrant entertainment destination with the opening of Belmont Park Village in 2024 and the new Belmont Park Racetrack in 2026.

How to Make the Team

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Accounting Intern to join our team from September to December 2025. In this role, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting a wide range of accounting and finance functions including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and preparation for monthly and annual financial reporting.

You may support multiple entities including the New York Islanders, Islanders Iceworks, Islanders Children's Foundation, and the Northwell Health Ice Center.

No prior accounting experience is required, but you must be proficient with basic computer programs and ready to learn in a fast-paced environment.

• The New York Islanders have offices in Floral Park, NY. You will be in the office 1-2 days per week

Salary Description

$17.00 hourly
