Job summary

Jacksonville State University is seeking an Accountant Intern to work with the Controller to gain hands-on experience. The role includes researching, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting the Controller in daily tasks.

Hours are flexible up to 20 hours per week, with a start around January 11, 2027. Duties cover accounting tasks, data entry, and the preparation of financial documents, under supervision in the Controller's Office.

Responsibilities

• Shadows members of the Controller's Office as they perform their duties.
• Assists with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
• Prepare financial reports and other documents.
• Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
• Learning how to work as part of a Team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the University or clients.
• Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
• Prepares and sends out communications regarding financial policies and compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
