Job Summary
The Account Coordinator supports the Intermodal & Truck Brokerage Operations department, coordinating daily freight load movements on a national scale while maintaining customer satisfaction in an extremely high-pressure, time-sensitive atmosphere.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Determine and secure the most profitable equipment type and/or transportation mode
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments per customer’s requirements
- Procure and dispatch carriers
- Communicate with carriers, customers, and railroads
- Manage equipment pools
- Ensure loads are picked up, moving on schedule and delivered on-time
- Obtain arrival and departure times from carriers
- Ensure timely termination of empty intermodal equipment
- Process accessorial charges
- Audit work orders
- Analyze various reports that will assist in properly managing customer loads
- Assist in the review and submittal of customer requests for pricing
- Back up for other team members and/or team leader, as needed
- Have availability to work outside office hours (evenings and weekends) as part of an on-call rotation

- Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Minimum Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred
- 3-5+ years of related work experience within transportation or logistics, and/or additional or specialized training in transportation, logistics, or similar area of study
- Working knowledge of intermodal transportation preferred, but not required
- Cost management experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency
- Strong negotiating skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and can work well under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook
