Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in intermodal, drayage, and owner operator recruiting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Source, identify, and recruit qualified owner operators to contract with the terminal, using grass-roots efforts, job boards, industry associations, driver referral networks, trucking events, and digital advertising.
• Build and maintain relationships with owner operators under contract to encourage referrals and retention.
• Support terminal-level growth goals by maintaining a healthy pipeline of qualified owner operator candidates.
• Conduct initial phone and in-person interviews to assess fit and explain pay structure and lease/contract terms.
• Screen candidates' MVR, safety record, and CSA scores to confirm eligibility.
• Coordinate background checks, drug/alcohol screening, and credentialing for new applicants.
• Verify equipment compliance for container hauling, including chassis, inspections, registrations, and permits.
• Ensure candidates meet FMCSA regulations and company safety standards prior to contracting.
• Create and maintain owner operator profiles in Tenstreet and dispatch systems.
• Explain safety protocols and orientation procedures; serve as primary contact throughout recruiting process.
• Maintain detailed records of recruiting activity and credentialing timelines.
• Represent the terminal at events to build the company’s reputation as a preferred drayage carrier.
