Intermediate Workplace Interior Designer

ODAA (Oh-Dah!) is an exciting, design-focused Architecture and Interiors practice spanning both the commercial and residential sectors. We have a strong collaborative culture that fosters creative energy and design solutions that all team members are a part of. We strive to inspire and support our clients from the beginning to the end of our projects.

We are growing and currently seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer with 4‑7 years of experience to fulfill a full‑time position who is excited about design and being part of a creative team, someone who is motivated to push themselves and others to do great work, someone who has great experience and drive to learn more, and someone who is organized and interested in growing quickly.

Responsibilities
  • Interact with clients and convey professionalism.
  • Work alongside Senior Interior Designers to develop inventive and cost‑effective design solutions.
  • Use hand sketching, digital modeling and renderings to convey design ideas.
  • Produce designs, construction documents, and provide content for specifications.
  • Assist in programming efforts such as visioning and space planning exercises.
  • Render conceptual design ideas and prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
  • Have strong technical knowledge of sourcing finish materials, products, and custom fabrication.
  • Prepare and review documents during all design phases in preparation for city permitting and construction.
  • Communicate with subconsultants and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements.
  • Meet tight timelines while maintaining high‑quality work and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a verbal and written communication style that results in smooth collaboration.
  • Be a self‑starter comfortable deriving clarity when on tough projects.
  • Conduct construction administration, including on‑site visits, field reviews and project meetings.
Skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
  • Ability to develop conceptual ideas through sketches, rendering, models, etc.
  • Ability to apply advanced space planning skills.
  • Knowledge of design trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer‑supplier appropriateness.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of furniture manufacturers, product reps, and installers.
  • Knowledge of fixture and equipment, finishes, lighting, art, signage, color, and materials.
  • Advanced knowledge of building code regulations.
  • Experience with city permitting.
  • Must be organized with the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Software Proficiency
  • Autodesk Revit and Enscape.
  • SketchUp and Rhino are optional.
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
