Job summary

Chenega MIOS is seeking an Intermediate Threat Hunt Analyst in Washington, DC to analyze cyber threats, perform active hunts, and reconstruct breach events. You will work with threat intelligence to identify TTPs and indicators, leveraging MITRE ATT&CK and enterprise-wide visibility.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in threat hunting, must be a US citizen, and can obtain a Top Secret clearance after a background check.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of threat hunting and threat analysis experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Background check with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.
  • Must pass a Criminal and Financial Background Check prior to starting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform active hunt activities based on current cyber threat intelligence and MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to reconstruct events leading to a compromise or breach.
  • Collaborate with threat intel services to establish relevant TTPs for prioritized actors.
  • Develop cyber hunt activities based on attack hypotheses to identify potential compromises.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge across IT platforms to understand attack methods and indicators.
  • Incorporate intelligence from threat intel, IOCs, and TTPs to hunt for activity in networks.
  • Develop, maintain, and update Threat Hunting Concept of Operations and SOP.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Intermediate Threat Hunt Analyst

The Intermediate Threat Hunt Analyst is responsible for analyzing detailed information and intelligence on known and emerging Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) and cybercriminal actors to develop attack hypotheses; working collaboratively and leveraging cyber threat intelligence, penetration testing, and other valuable analysis, sensing, and warning information.

Responsibilities
  • Perform active hunt activities based on current cyber threat intelligence and the MITRE ATT&CK Framework
  • Perform detailed analysis to reconstruct the series of events that led to a compromise or breach
  • Collaborate with cyber threat intelligence services to establish relevant tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for prioritized cyber actors identified in the threat model
  • Develop cyber hunt activities based on attack hypotheses to identify indications of potential compromise or breach
  • Possess advanced knowledge across various IT platforms to understand how attacks occur and what residual indicators might result
  • Receive and apply intelligence from threat intelligence, including IOCs and TTPs, to hunt for activity within networks
  • Develop, maintain, and update Threat Hunting Concept of Operations and SOP.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline. Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in threat hunting and threat analysis
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Background check with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal and Financial Background Check prior to starting
Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA PenTest+, CompTIA CySA+, EC-Council CEH, or similar level certification
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of and experience with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework
  • Experience conducting threat-hunting activities in an enterprise environment
